DESCRIPTION

The farm "La Parrilla" is located 6 km from the town of Fuente Palmera, in the province of Córdoba, in the region of Andalusia. The farm has an extension of 340 ha, with plots of arable (wheat, sunflower, rapeseed) and woody crops (almond, olive, plum and orange tree).

There are many different kinds of slopes in the farm, ranging from 0% to 8% grades. This, together with the amount of rain in the area (550 mm) and the water provided by the irrigation (500 mm), increases the risk of erosion. The average amount of organic matter in the soil is 2.7% and it has clay loam texture.

Conservation Agriculture techniques have been used here for more than 20 years. Nowadays, no-tillage is the practice used in arable crops while ground cover is the soil maintenance technique in woody crops.
